Save as rename your image make sure the image is save as a .jpg at the highest ( maximum) image quality,

save- you do not have to rename the image at this point save often
Nestle- tools are stacked on each other - to access those tools you have to left click and hold.

USE COMMAND KEYS!
 command += zoom in
 command - =zoom out
 command o = open
 command c = copy
 command v = paste
 command z = undo
 command , option, z = step backward
 command s = save
 command p = print
 command l= levels

To turn an image go to

> Image>Image rotation
CW and CCW
CW = clockwise
CCW= counter clockwise
180= 1/2 rotation.

Adjusting Levels
>Image> Adjustments>levels

channel RGB - moved just the black one

Resolution Guidelines
yearbook = 300
newspaper = 150
web = 72 

To make image black and white

use Grayscale
Image> Mode> Grayscale

Photoshop Introduction

Common Tools
1) Crop Tool; Is used to cut a part off your photo.
2) Lasso Tool; Is used to select an specific part of your photo.
3) Text Tool: it allows you to add a text in your photo.
4) What buttons do you push to "Undo" a mistake you made? Command-Z(Mac) or CTRL-Z (PC)
5) What can you open to "undo" more than one mistake? How do you open it? You have to pullup the History Palette you can do this by going to the Window---> History menu.

6) How do you rotate an image? you go to image menu and select image rotation.
7). If you don't like the initial cropping box you drew, how can you change it before you make your crop? yes
8) Under the heading "Resizing while Cropping" when you enter dimensions as you crop, what are you telling Photoshop to do as you crop your image? Fill in the width and height fields in the option bar while the crop tool is selected.
 
9) What is the correct resolution for newsletters and newspapers? the range of 150 to 200 ppi
10). What is the correct resolution for magazines? magazines are likely to prefer high resolution images of 250 ppi or more.

The Masthead is the title, the Dateline tells the year and month of the publication and the price of the magazine, Cover lines it tells you what is going to be in the magazine, Main Image the front cover, Model Credit a credit that appears on the magazine front cover, Coverlines they are distributed around the main image without detracting from it to much, Bar Code Standard bar code used by retailers, Main Cover Line it takes almost a quarter of the front cover, Selling Lines it tells you the titles main marketing point.
